[Organization]
The Genbukan World Ninpo Bugei Federation, or GWNBF, was founded in 1984 with the Kokusai Jujutsu Renmei (KJJR) being founded soon after in 1991.
The main goals of each organisation are to preserve and promote realistic and traditional martial arts in the form of Ninpo Bugei and Traditional Jujutsu whilst also gaining a better understanding in the public eye as to what these often misunderstood or misrepresented traditions are about.
With each organisation specialising in its own field, they both base their foundations on a solid curriculum of "Kihon", or fundamental taijutsu (body skills), which has without doubt been a significant factor in attaining the current and continually growing membership of aproximately 5,000 persons.
In 1994 a sister organisation focusing on Practical and Effective Self-Defence was brought into being in order to offer the tremendous amount of expertise that both the GWNBF and KJJR have to offer on a more direct and immediately applicable level for persons in need of such important skills.
With the Genbukan placing importance on structure, fundamentals and seamless tuition, the Chinese martial art of Pakua (which has been taught at Honbu since 1991) and Koryu Karate were restructured into systems that could be taught at international level in 2003.
These systems/arts are open to all members of either the GWNBF or KJJR.
[President and Grandmaster]
[Tanemura Shoto]

Shoto Tanemura started traditional martial arts at the age of 9, through his first teacher Sadatsune Tanemura, who was his father and expert of Kendo, Jujutsu, Ninjutsu, Jukenjutsu, etc.
Shoto Tanemura received his first Menkyo Kaiden (Grandmastership) at 21years old. Currently He has over 23 Menkyo Kaiden of traditional martial arts, but he is still studying and learning new styles.
When he was thinking about his own martial art name, he received an image from deep within his heart gShotoh. The meaning of Shoto is master of the sword (the sword is the symbol of the martial arts).
This is because he has resolved to dedicate his whole life to being the Kancho of Honbu Dojo and spreading Budo (martial arts) throughout this world.
The mission that he feels and carries is to convey to the people of the world the true meaning of self-protection through traditional martial arts (Jujutsu, Ninpo, Karate, Kenpo, Goshin Jutsu, traditional Ryuha schools, etc. To do this a person must first learn the way to protect onefs body. Second learn the way to preserve onefs heart. Finally, one should strive to attain the way to secure the divine spirit, so that we may bring happiness to many with our harmonious way of life.
The realization of the oneness of spirit and matter is something that I wish each one of you will come to through Budo.
